Have you seen the new Everton shirts. Oh my word, sure they must go down in history as being one of the worst ever football strips. Somebody sent me a picture of them today, and at first I thought it was a joke. Surely I thought they cannot seriously be expecting their players to run out onto the pitch wearing a neon pink strip? But no, apparently they are. I’m guessing that the strip must be the away strip, which surely makes things worse. What will it do to the players confidence to be trotting out onto the pitch wearing a strip like that in front of forty thousand jeering fans? Maybe it will be the ‘third kit’ and it will only get a run-out once or twice.

I think the proper name for that colour is ‘shocking pink’ and that is a pretty shocking strip. At least it is unique, I don’t think I have ever see a team play in those colours before. Pink t-shirts were very fashionable for men a couple of years ago, but still. The associations with that colour are that it is somewhat effeminate in the eyes of many Moyes’ men might as well be wearing dresses.
